Let it roll Lassie, roll.

I have this amazing little Application on my iPod Touch that is pretty much a dictionary of drinks, both alcoholic and non. I mean, this thing is so diverse, it's got over 3000 mixes, and explanations on how to mix them. I think that's pretty rad, anyways. I'll definitely be bringing my iPod to the next party I go to... Aside from the obvious benefit of knowing how to make just about any drink, you also have plenty of weird names to discuss... I mean, what the hell is a "Tie me to the Bedpost"?

Now that I have that out of the way, let me just say I'm totally STOKED about North Carolina tomorrow. You haven't the slightest idea how much I've been looking forward to it. Just talking with that Civilian Contractor today down in the Processing room got me excited about going down there. This guy had a badass boat, a sailboat, that was one of those dual-hull jobs. You know, despite being in the Navy, I think I'd still enjoy owning a boat, and going out on weekends down to the tropical side of things. I'm not entirely sure if my excitement is well warranted, but I'm just excited to do something new.

Well, this week has been pretty interesting. I've worked out kinks, gotten a few more, gotten some good news, some GREAT news, and gotten some less than exciting news. At work, I've worked my ass off and sucked up some pretty awful hours, compared to weeks before. Starting off the week with a bang, was Busch Gardens. That was some of the best fun I've had in a while, and I was able to share it with the people I love best. The Cousins, Chase and Kim, Emz, Emmers, and my newfound cousin-in-law, Michael. Maybe next time, my sister can come, and Mana too! Monday was a day off, tuesday was a karaoke night, wednesday was a hangout night with my sis and Josh, and thursday was Texas Roadhouse with some friends. So yeah, I suppose I made up for the lame Friday I'm spending here in Radio.

Just to put it in writing, the 29th will be when my ship is leaving again, and it will be going out for a three day stint. I don't expect it to be difficult or anything, and you can bet we will be back for the Fourth of July. The day following the Fourth will be another underway, and we will be gone for about 5 days this time. It's sad, I know, but we will be back, and I guess that's a bit more money I will be saving.

Last week, I said I was gonna get my tattoo idea looked at. I still haven't talked to that guy again, and I guess I really haven't had the chance to. I suppose, once I am released for the day, I spend the minimum amount of time necessary on the ship.
On the horizon, is Xaviers next Epic party. I usually enjoy his parties, but I've never had the chance to attend one of the big ones. There should be 40+ people there, and Xavier is trying hard to make it an equal half and half men/women.

I think, soon, I will start handing out my blog address to a few people. This will pretty much ensure that people can have a running report (If they really care) on what I'm up to while I'm out on deployment. This doesn't discount the privacy I've had in the past with my blogs or anything, in fact, I may just create a separate blog altogether, and keep this one for close friends. I don't know, just throwing ideas out there.

Give me time, I'm working on it. I hope you understand. So, here I am, sitting in Radio. This is more of a running status update, as I'm sure you all have realized already. It's 84 degrees in here now, and all we have are two box fans. For you Pet Paradise former-employees, these fans are about the equivalent of the big fans that we would use to dry the carpet after a big spill. :-p I'm also sure you know that these things didn't do a very good job. So yeah, I'm probably going to have to start shutting down servers in a few minutes. Some of these server racks are beasts! The amount of heat they put out is enough to raise the temperature in the room 10 degrees above the normal ambient temps.
I'm listening to Dream Theater right now... to one of their better songs, "I Walk Beside You".

Oh, where everything is wrong
Oh, where hopelessness surrounds you
Oh, the sun will rise again
The tide you swim against
Will carry you back home
So don't give up
Don't give in
I walk beside you
Wherever you are
Whatever it takes
No matter how far
Through all that may come
And all that may go
I walk beside you
I walk beside you
Well, that's all I've got for now. I start watch in about 5 hours, so I will probably be catching a bit o' sleep before that starts. See y'all soon!

  1. Have a fun night! We'll have to see about this Busch Gardens thing. I'm not really into theme parks. It's a nice thought though! I hope you're doing well and we need to play zOMG again sometime soon!
