Hey y'all! Dave-o here... Today's been a relatively slow day. It started out with me waking up at four this morning, and getting ready to go to the ship. Halfway there, at about 430, I realized that I left my freshly washed uniform in the dryer! WTF! So of course, i turn around, race back home, and grab it. On the way back to the ship, I passed my buddy DJ. He gave me a crazy look, like "WTF man", as I passed. We both ended up getting to the ship at the same time though...
So we both are walking relatively quickly towards the brow of the ship (we had to be there by 5), and we hear, "Liberty expires on board for all hands" right as we are walking down the pier. Man, we were so lucky there was a cool Officer of the Deck this morning... If we had been a tad bit later, they would have taken our IDs and reported us to our Chief. Lucky stuff.
So we got onboard and helped get the ship ready for going out. So now I'm on the night shift. I've been sitting around for a few hours, just trying to find something productive to do. No luck, really. We've got a movie on right now; the Lord of the Rings. It's the first one, the one i've not seen for a few years, actually.
That's pretty much it. My night's been relatively uneventful. We should be doing some fire drills sometime within the next hour. It's about 1000 right now...
Oh, and i'm going over my lines for the play in my head right now.

ReplyDeleteAh, an easter play. Its at my friend Amanda's church. It should be interesting. I'm a disciple, and I also play Jarius. I dunno how its gonna turn out...

Are you going to make it to practice to night? It's at 6:30, and I don't think you're a disciple, but a crowd person now. We'll have to ask Nancy tonight.
