This is a blog?!?

Hello, myself! This is mainly for your benefit. Too long have these feelings been bottled up and stored at unsafe pressures! I have really no idea how this stuff works. Do I update this thing regularly? Sadly, I cannot write too much tonight. It's a bit late, and i have another hellish day at work tomorrow.

Work... that's what it is, right? Sometimes I get caught up in the delusion that i'm serving my country while i'm in port. Ya know what? I think the reservists can be called heroes, more so than we Active Duty personnel. Those that are yanked out of their civilian lives to go on deployments, or over to Iraq; those are the real heroes. Me, sitting around in port, going through inspection after inspection, seems like more of an extended stay. I guess we are being prepared though... Sometimes, this Navy thing really gets the best of me. I am extremely blessed to have been stationed directly in my hometown, 15 minutes away from my home, 5 minutes away from my place of birth. God is good indeed!

I guess I can't say anything profound this time around. I miss people that have left the area permanently, or temporarily, and yes, I really do miss the good times we had. Those tacos just ain't the same, ya hear? My good buddy Heath, from the ship, is getting pushed around pretty badly. At the end of this month, he will be permanently switching duty stations to another frigate. This really blows. Every time he and I arrived in a port, overseas, we'd be the first ones to explore something totally different. Sometimes it would be something historical, like the Temple of Apollo in Limassol, Cyprus. That was profound stuff. Sometimes it would be something totally off the wall and unique, like the Ice Bar in Copenhagen, Denmark. Either way, you will be missed, bro. I guess that's the nature of the beast; what I signed up for. 3 more years!

Yeah... I think I'm liking this Blog stuff. I may just keep this thing a tad bit exclusive. Can't ruin my image, right? ;) I know what you are thinking... "what image, Mr. Davey, are you talking about?" Gotta keep up the facade, little guy... gotta keep it up. :-p

Well, that's enough for tonight. This message has been brought to you by the Crockett. Davey Crockett.

  1. Yes, I talked to them. They said, all they need is to see you in person, and it's a done deal!
I think we'll just do the same for the other houses. If not, I can just flash 'em. Works every time.
