Well, here we are. Another day gone by. This weekend was relatively short. This was mainly due to the nice long duty day I had on Saturday. Unfortunately, the internet was down for nearly the entire day. I would have made a post if I could have :)
Yeah, more or less, the duty day consisted of talking to Tech Reps on the phone, answering questions about this or that. Nothing really impressive or difficult, just time consuming. So, with that day out of the way, I stumbled into Sunday.
Today was pretty cool. I got home at 8, stumbled into bed, slept for 2 hours, and then got up for church. Church was interesting, i guess. Our pastor was at home, with a slipped disc (I see right through you!), and therefore could not be present. Instead, one of our seniors did the preaching. Dr. Hap Struthers, a former Navy Chaplain, was the one to do it. He's a pretty cool bloke.
After church, i went home, took a nap for a bit, and then started to work on my Si. I did a nice detailing job to it; stripped the wax, claybarred it, then rewaxed it. It had been about 6 months since the initial waxing, so it was indeed time for a treatment. I met a new friend, a James Cherry, from the neigborhood. He seemed nice enough. He just walked up to me while i was washing the Si, and started asking me questions about the Integra and what i had done to it. He ended up hanging around for a little over 2 hours, just talking about cars, high school (he went to bayside) and mutual friends. Apparently, he's good friends with my bud Trevor Green from Pet Paradise. Small world, indeed. So, he gave me some good tips on how to detail and all that, since he'd been a professional detailer at a few dealerships. We exchanged numbers, and vowed that we would call each other if there was to be any car work to be done.
Oh, and by the way, Emz. Your earlier post mentioning Kempsville, and my reference to it being a "small world" made me remember something. When I was in Rota, Spain, i met a girl who was from Va. She said she graduated from Kempsville. Do you remember anybody with a last name, Vangundy? It was a pretty prominent last name, one you don't see too often.
Finishing up, I then headed out for Xaviers house. I arrived, ate a few burgers, and just hung out on the tailgate of his new Tundra. Me and his buddy Scott checked out each others Si's. He has a Jet black one, and it's a four door. We were just admiring the subtle differences between the two. My friend Dave, in the meantime, was getting his Accord ready for the new racing season coming up soon. So, we were all pretty much content to sit there, grab a beer, and talk about nothing in general :). It would have been cool if you could have been there, but honestly, there wasn't too much common ground to have been had. Emily was upstairs the majority of the time, studying for her upcoming tests. She seems to have become quite studious. Makes me kind of jealous that i didnt try to finish school. Right before i left, the neighborhood crazy dog started prancing around the yard. Previously, my sisters dog, Morgan, had been playing with two pit bulls. Now, this massive chocolate lab, who fancies Morgan, comes trotting up, wanting to play. I have no idea where Morgan got the energy from, but she proceeded to chase him all around the yard, and round and round my car. I was getting kind of nervous. Dont scratch my car! lol.
So, that was more or less it for the day.
Right now, i'm sitting here in bed, wishing my ears and neck didnt burn so much, and counting down the hours. Til new arrivals, and til new workdays. Oh, what fun!
Jeremiah was a bullfrog. Then he was eaten by a white noise monster.
